[Magyargyerőmonostor] MAGYARGYERŐMONOSTOR The church of Magyargyerőmonostor was built in the 13th century by the Hungarian kings of the House of Árpád (1000-1301), and is regarded as the most idyllic little fortified church in Transylvania. Located in Kalotaszeg (a region of Transylvania populated by Hungarians with very characteristic cultural customs, such as costumes and embroidery), the church has several carvings dating back to the 13th century, a carved pulpit (1742) and a panelled ceiling.
